Lorraine Ida Glaser, age 91, of Marietta, Ga, was received into Heaven on August 26, 2017. She was born in Portland, ME on June 18, 1926 to Catherine Margaret Linscott and Henry A. C. Neil, the oldest of 4 children.

She was married to Ned C. Glaser in 1946 having met in Portland while he was serving in the Marines. He predeceased her in 1991.

Lorraine was an active passionate member of Emmaus UCC in Vienna, Virginia for over 40 years. She served on several committees in the church's many social outreach projects....

She was married to Ned C. Glaser in 1946 having met in Portland while he was serving in the Marines. He predeceased her in 1991.

Lorraine was an active passionate member of Emmaus UCC in Vienna, Virginia for over 40 years. She served on several committees in the church's many social outreach projects. Along with her husband Ned Glaser she raised a family of four sons in Harrisonburg and Vienna, Virginia. She was an inspiration to many in every community she touched, always providing a sympathetic ear to those in need and a cup of tea and a slice of pie or cookies to help with the conversations. She felt compassion for everyone around her always working to improve her community and enrich her large circle of friends.

She is survived by her 4 sons and their wives and families. Art and Wayne Glaser in Marietta, GA, Bill and Joy Glaser in Mint Hill, NC, Scott Glaser in Vienna, VA, Neil and Katie Glaser in Woodbridge, VA. Lorraine is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Her grandchild, Dan Toohey predeceased her having died in 2003. She is also survived by countless friends whose lives she forever changed.

A brief informal celebration of Lorraine's life for her friends and family will be officiated by Pastor and close friend Rev. Trish Greeves at the home of Art and Wayne Glaser, 1540 Burnt Hickory Rd North West, Marietta, GA. on Sunday, September 17, 2017 beginning at 4:00 p.m. with a reception to follow. Lorraine will also be memorialized later this fall in Vienna, Virginia.
