Patricia Kelly Quist was born January 1st, 1961 in Kankakee IL, the forth of five children. Her father Joseph Kelly was a World War II vet who worked in several jobs serving the farm industry, including a stint teaching agriculture at an Iowa high school. With job relocations Pat moved with the family to several farm cities around the Midwest.

She graduated from Loras College in Dubuque IA with a degree in Childhood Development. This led to a career in youth education for several churches. Pat was working for a diocese in St Paul Minnesota when she met future husband David in 1991. They married in August of 1994.

David's job relocation in 2001 brought the family to Charlotte. When the company re-structured two years later, Pat and Dave got their insurance licenses and opened their insurance office. The business grew quickly with Charlotte's housing boom through the decade.

Becoming bored with the insurance business, Pat began taking night classes in 2010 at UNC -Charlotte to earn her degree in Elementary Education. She was hired to teach 5th grade at Lebanon Road Elementary in 2012. She also continued her studies at UNCC and earned her Masters degree the following year.

Besides teaching, Pat is known for her love of college football, especially her Clemson Tigers: son Tommy is a Clemson senior studying Engineering. She also enjoyed travel, shopping, and spending time with Dave and Tommy.

She is deeply missed by her family, her insurance clients, and by the hundreds of lives she touched in the schools.
