Virginia Crumpecker Davis (Ginny) age 85, passed away on Friday, September 29, 2017 surrounded by her family. She was born in Roanoke, Virginia, August 31, 1932, and graduated from Roanoke College in Salem, VA with her Bachelor's Degree in Education.

Virginia worked for the Fairfax County School System in VA until early 1960's. She was a homemaker until the children got older and then worked as Director of the Newell Presbyterian Church's Preschool/ Kindergarten. After working for Newell Presbyterian, Ginny was employed by CPCC as an instructor in the Early Childhood Education program....

Virginia Crumpecker Davis (Ginny) age 85, passed away on Friday, September 29, 2017 surrounded by her family. She was born in Roanoke, Virginia, August 31, 1932, and graduated from Roanoke College in Salem, VA with her Bachelor's Degree in Education.

Virginia worked for the Fairfax County School System in VA until early 1960's. She was a homemaker until the children got older and then worked as Director of the Newell Presbyterian Church's Preschool/ Kindergarten. After working for Newell Presbyterian, Ginny was employed by CPCC as an instructor in the Early Childhood Education program. Continuing with her career in Childhood Education, she worked for the State of North Carolina in the Division of Child Development, as a day care licensing consultant for western North Carolina. She retired from the state in 1994, but continued to substitute and tutor at the local elementary schools until Spring of 2017.

For 40 years, Ginny taught Kindergarten Sunday School at Hickory Grove United Methodist Church and was currently a member of the Cokesbury Sunday School class. She was inspired and loved by her church family and she loved them also. Ginny also went on a mission trip to Africa with her fellow church members. Ginny's Lord and Savior and her family were most important to her.

She was a wonderful wife of 61 years to Bob, the love of her life. She was a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is preceded in death by her husband Robert (Bob) Davis, father Harry Crumpecker, mother, Vivian Crumpecker, sister, Katherine Dillard, and son-in-law, David Baugh. Ginny Davis is survived by her children, Dave Davis, Barbara Baugh, and Jimmy Davis; grandchildren, Ann Michelle Baugh, Abbie Hawks (Dirk), Josh Baugh (Jami), and Cody Davis; great grandchildren, Addison Baugh, Damian Ramirez, McKenna Baugh, and Amelia Baugh; niece, Kathy Ellis (Charlie) and nephew, Steve Dillard (Karen).

A memorial service will be held at eleven o'clock in the morning on Wednesday, the 4th of October, 2017 at Hickory Grove United Methodist Church, 6401 Hickory Grove Rd., Charlotte, NC with a visitation held one hour prior to the service in the church parlor. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be sent to Hickory Grove United Methodist Church, Servant's Heart of Mint Hill, or to a charity of your choice.
