HUNTLEY, William Joseph, 79, passed away peacefully under hospice care and surrounded by family, January 8, 2018. Bill was born in Monticello, GA in 1938, to the late Wilburn E. and the late Dorothy H. Huntley.

He is survived by his loving wife, Joann Sides Huntley, of Harrisburg, NC; his sisters Helen Huntley Wall and her husband Thomas of Destin, FL; Patricia Huntley Bryan and her husband Jed of Rock Hill, SC; and brother Robert E. Huntley and his wife Donna of Cumming, GA, and many adored nieces, nephews and greats. Bill cherished...

HUNTLEY, William Joseph, 79, passed away peacefully under hospice care and surrounded by family, January 8, 2018. Bill was born in Monticello, GA in 1938, to the late Wilburn E. and the late Dorothy H. Huntley.

He is survived by his loving wife, Joann Sides Huntley, of Harrisburg, NC; his sisters Helen Huntley Wall and her husband Thomas of Destin, FL; Patricia Huntley Bryan and her husband Jed of Rock Hill, SC; and brother Robert E. Huntley and his wife Donna of Cumming, GA, and many adored nieces, nephews and greats. Bill cherished his children William Bradley (Brad) Huntley and his wife Margie of Matthews, NC; Dawn Huntley of Indian Trail, NC; and Amanda Huntley Andersen and her husband Lou of Black Mountain, NC. Adored "Paw Paw" of Casey Anne Huntley, and Chamberland and Cadence Andersen. Loving step-father of Stacey Sides Gherardi and her husband Peter, Kent Sides and his wife Kim, and the late Terri Sides Spradley, and many step grandchildren and greats. He is also survived by a loving family of cousins upon cousins in the Mint Hill and surrounding areas.

Bill was a graduate of Warner Robbins High School, Warner Robbins, GA, where he gained friendships that lasted his lifetime. In his early career, he was a brick mason for Huntley Brothers, which subsequently merged with McGee Brothers Masonry. He then became a long-distance truck driver for Priority Freight, then returned to McGee Brothers, from where he retired in 2006. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and was a member of the Mint Hill, NC, Masonic Lodge.

Family and friends will be gathering at Dawn's home Wednesday evening, January 10, 2018. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at 3:00pm at McEwen Funeral Service-Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road, Mint Hill, NC 28227 with visitation held one hour prior to the service.
